What's my name??

So I know I said in my last post I'd be writing about spring haircuts and finding the perfect groomer. But I've been sooooo busy over the last two weeks that I didn't have time to put anything together that was... well... useful :-)

However with that said, I have something else that I'm much more excited about. My friends at the Family Pet Resort and I sat down and we decided that we were going to hold a contest to come up with a good name for me! Awesome!

Anyway, if you find yourself at either one of our locations in Newtown Square or Philadelphia, there are drop boxes and entry forms where you can suggest a name and maybe even win a great prize! (Apparently its a secret suprise but I've been assured that it is most epically excellent) Or if you can't make it in, feel free to email us your suggestion and leave your name, phone number and address to info@familypetresort.com just make sure to put in the subject line "Name the mascot contest" because we get lots of emails there. The contest ends next Wednesday so hurry up! We've had a few good ones so you'll all need your extra special thinking caps to come up with something good.

To get you started, here's an advantage you guys will have over the people coming in to FPR because I'm going to give you my criteria for my name.
1) It has to be cool and unique. No Fluffy or Furball or Cutie or anything like that. My name needs to speak to my level of awesome... which is like, 15 on the awesome-o-meter.
2) I'm a boy... so please no "Miss Sniffikins" or anything like that. We've had a few and I just went *facepalm* Maybe if we adopt a girl dog (which I wouldn't complain about!)
3) No well known names. Scooby Doo, Lassie, that sort of thing won't fly. Its a trademark thing and really do I look like a Scooby Doo?

So that's all for now. I can't wait to read all your suggestions!

Spring Haircuts Part 1

Well, it’s that time of the year again… the time of year when it starts getting warmer outside, spring training for baseball has begun down south, and winter is FINALLY on its way out (and I think I speak for all of us when I say thank goodness!).

Of course with it being just a short time until spring, it’s almost time for my spring haircut! I always look forward to this haircut for a few reasons:
- First, regular grooming and bathing is important to my health! I, like your dog get some really nasty mats in my fur and not only are they painful (think knots in your hair painful) but it can be a nice cozy home for fleas, ticks, and other nasty things. Not cool.
- Also, as the weather starts to get warmer I’ll be shedding my winter coat for a nice cooler summer wear. But sometimes the old fur gets tangled into the new fur creating knots.
- Last but certainly not least, it makes me look good! And with summer right around the corner, that means going to the dog park and hanging out with other dogs… And I have to look good for the ladies ;-)

Now, my good friends at the Family Pet Resort take care of me and make sure I look stylish. They’re awesome and they use this Hydrosurge Washing System that is absolutely WONDERFUL!! The best way I can describe it is taking a bath in a jacuzzi. I get clean and massaged at the same time. You can find some more info by visiting their website; http://www.familypetresort.com/grooming.html

But what about my readers who don’t live in the Philadelphia area? As much as I would like you all to visit, I realize it’s quite impractical to fly all the way out here to get a haircut. Well, stay tuned everybody because on Monday, I’ll give some great suggestions on finding the perfect groomer for you. Then, later in the week, I’ll even be giving some do-it-yourself grooming tips!

Super Pet Expo

Hey everyone! If you're looking for something to do this weekend, come by the Super Pet Expo in King of Prussia! I could talk about the several different vendors and really neat stuff they're going to have there such as the Mighty Mites "teacup" Dog Agility Team and the tough guys with hearts of gold from Rescue Ink, but it would just be easier to give you the website and let you check it out for yourself. Its http://www.superpetexpo.com

Oh! I almost forgot! The most important people in the world are going to be there. These folks are hard working, dedicated and are really cool people to boot! That's right, the Family Pet Resort will be there! Come see our booth and say hello! Our awesome staff will be there to answer any questions, and rumor has it there may be some coupons and other special treats for both human and pet alike.

But best of all... or should I say, best of show, I will be there. Who am I? Well I am the Family Pet Resort's faithful mascot! You may have seen me standing on West Chester Pike waving at traffic in the morning and afternoon. I haven't had a chance to meet any of you personally so I'll be there to give out plenty of high fives, fist bumps, pictures and scritches for the pets!

I would give out autographs but guess what... I don't have a name! I know right? Go ahead and adopt a dog and not give him a name. What nerve. That's what I thought until my friends said they wanted you guys to think of a name for me! So if you would be so kind, please leave any suggestions in the comments section, or if you come visit me at the Pet Expo, let me know your suggestion! I'm hoping to get a great name sooner than later so please help otherwise I'll have no way to sign off on my blogs! (Which btw, will be really awesome filled with great pet related news, info and all sorts of suprises).

But for now, I will simply say thanks for visiting and I hope to see you this weekend or for that matter any day of the week. I'll be updating regularly as to where I'm going to be. Anyway, that's all for now and I'll see you guys soon!
